Sixteen hundred people took home bargains at the Rotary’s tenth annual Used Book Sale in January. The sale at Bayside Mall, Sarnia, offered over 27,000 books from which community members took home enough reading to last through the remaining winter months. The event offered a long deserved reward to those who came despite the large blizzards of the previous week. The three-day event attracted people particularly interested in hard and soft cover Fiction. Others came to search their favourite categories such as Children and Youth, Cooking, History and Politics, Sci-Fi and Sports.

Books leftover from our Used Book Sale in January are transported to South Africa in order to enable literacy for young and old. Books move from Sarnia to Grand Bend where Rotarians load pallets of banana boxes filled with books into sea containers for shipment. Rotary Clubs in South Africa distribute the books to schools and community groups.
