One of Rotary’s areas of focus is Disease Prevention and Treatment, while the Sarnia Bluewaterland Rotary Club identifies Patient Services as a local area of focus for the purpose of awarding funding support.  Our nominee offers health related exercise instruction, support and coaching to a wide variety of people, including young people with disabilities, heart and stroke patients recovering from health issues, Parkinson’s patients and people of all ages wishing to live a healthy and productive life.  Volunteering with organizations such as Pathways Centre for Children, Iron Eagles, Titans Powerlifting, Inn of the Good Shepherd and the Strangway Centre enables Cam to connect with the many people he has supported.
Cam very quietly “pays it forward” by buying someone lunch, helping someone with a little extra cash to make a purchase or pay a bill, listening to people and offering guidance and a kind word.

His daughters acknowledge their dad’s integrity as they see him doing the right thing as he interacts with people.  “My Dad is silently doing that wherever he goes and if there were more people like him in the world, the world would be a more magical place.”

I believe our nominee demonstrates the Rotary mantra of Service Above Self.
